NV binoculars at Lidl

Thanks. I might not have been so hasty, but after finding them at £240 on Amazon, I then saw the identical glasses for a £60 saving at "allgadgets.co.uk", and put my order in. I hope that wasn't a mistake...but I used Paypal so I'll send the boys in if there's any problem.

25 year warranty...I can only hope I live to see that out. ;)

Very interesting and instructive. :encouragement:

Especially if it reduces anybody's reliance upon cheapjack would-be replicas of very costly, genuinely effective kit.

Isn't it likely that ordinary high-quality binoculars will improve poor-light viewing, better than items like this from Lidl?

Yes, for this aspect of performance the larger objective lens the better.

Definitely not a mistake . . . on their way to you, thanks. We've rarely had to test the warranty but on the couple of occasions we did, Bynolyt have backed it up.

I picked up the Lidel IR binos at the weekend and initial feel is that they are quite good!

The field of view is narrow but that is an advantage when looking at more distant objects. The IR illuminator has 7 levels and does throw a lot of "light" to illuminate the target.

I will do a test on board to see how much practical use they are and report back...

Much appreciated, Mike. I had a scare yesterday because the PayPal automatic email was somehow archived, and the allgadgets invoice inexplicably went to my junk file...I began to wonder if I'd dreamed ordering them! Can't wait to take delivery, many thanks!
