Nutter wanted

I think that as Graham was instrumental in getting the Bristol Channel Forum setup it is only fair that he gets the first ride. What do you think?

Hi Andy
Don't do it... I used to do a lot of paragliding before getting back into sailing, parascending came under the auspices of the paragliding assosciation so I did hear a fair bit about parascending There were a number of accidents involving parascending, including a few rather dramatic deaths which soon highlighted just how difficult it is to do this safely on land and over water this has a more obvious complication.
It's not as simple as strapping someone to the back of the boat at towing them along, it gets a bit more technical that than.
Best speak to someone who has done this first.

I agree. Don't! As someone else who has done a lot of paragliding and hang gliding, there is a lot more to it than just putting a tow rope on a boat, and pulling someone into the air. There is far too much to go wrong, and if someone is injured or killed Csail could be looking at a heap of trouble.

It's safe enough if done properly.

I am watching this thread with intrerest.
I've got a bosuns chair and a Cruising Chute, can't we cobble summat together?

I am buying it but just a case of WHEN. Maybe next season now. Can't annoy Swmbo too much!!!
Even though our kids trip to Legoland for the weekend including hotel cost more than a parasail, i still would be in trouble.
Cardiffcruiser can be my test pilot.

A real parachute wouldn't work.....it might slow the boat down though.
Latest little ideas are building a ground effect boat with ailerons and elevator to tow behind the big boat?

Huw,

Can I have your 50HP outboard? You know, if, er, it doesn't work out with the paralysing thing, like?
