.......I must be. Just finished giving the old girl a a heart transplant. got rid of the old vilevo six pot and squeezed in a GMv8. problem is being a yank engine all the bolt threads are imperial. the only stainless bolts etc I can find only come in metric. Ive tried every supplier i can find .So basically does anybody know anywhere that can supply stainless bolts with imperial threads, I dont fancy having to tap 26 holes.

Sorry not going to give you an address, that'd make it too easy for you, but a couple of suggestions that might be of use. What about trying the kit car or classic car mags? Might be the sort of thing they'd use? I know screwfix direct now sell s\s screws, don't know about bolts though. Failing that what about www.westmarine.com in the US, I'd guess they must have someting or post on www.boatus.com or www.boatered.com, all US based sites. Course you're not going to get delivery tomorrow, but should be fairly quick. Good luck. Oh and what are the bolts for?

Not in the office today so can't give you the phone number but there is a little ironmonger in Merton, London SW20 or 19 called W.W. Lampert (could be Lambert) try Yellow Pages.com or something. He stocks SS metric and imperial, as to whether he will have the AF bolts I dunno, but he will know who will. He probably closes at mid-day on a Sat.

I need them for the rocker covers and the ancilleries, nothing that will be under load so to speak, the useual mild steel ones that they use tend to corrode in no time at all. if i do it now before the boat goes in the water, i know ill be able to get them off when i need to, rather than wrestling with rusty nuts later. Electrolitic corrosion should,nt be a problem if i give,em a good dose of copperslip.

Anglia stainless steel in eastanglia, funnily enough, but bungay or beccles or somewhere like that, they have stainless nuts bolts, specials etc in unf and unc, in A2 and A4. used them a lot, they even have them in bronze, they are very helpful.

Try Real Steel in uxbridge ( find No from directory enquiries )
They do dress up stuff for chevvies (ie) stainless bolt kits for inlet manifold, rocker covers, etc they also do a range of rocker covers, timing chain covers in ally and chrome I've found them quite resonable, they also do mail order.

I dind,t think real steel were still in uxbridge, shows howlong it is since ive been there, still im over that way soon so i,ll give em a shout , Thanks for the info.
