Novices!!!My wonderful partner took apart the throttle housing to try and loosen up the throttle on our rib. He has put it all back together only where the ignition key fits, there appears to be a nut missing, there is a thread on the outside of the ignition barrel. He cannot remember if there should be a nut and I think there should as the ignition seems very loose? Opinions gratefully received. Also, we inherited a very old Lowrance GPS system which appears to work but is giving very incorrect depth readings and temperature readings, any ideas? /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif Thanks

Is your "very old Lowrance GPS system" actually connected to a depth sounder and/or temperature sensor? My handheld can display this information but, as it isn't actually connected to anything, I wouldn't be surprised to find that the display was very incorrect. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

I took some pics of my Johnson remote when I took it apart (to help if I got stuck) and there didn't appear to be a nut on the obvious thread on that.

However if you buy an ignition switch they normally do have a nut and a chrome bezel.

Looking through my images I've found a shot of the remote insitu. yes it does have a nut.

From the title of your post I thought you were talking about someone in control of the ignition. After reading your post I do not think he is alone!!!!! /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif
It is a plain as the nose on your face that you need a locating nut on the ignition or it will just 'rock n'roll' all over the place /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif
