Hi i think i know the type from a long time ago,nightmare to work on,when i fitted the volvo to my boat about two months ago i had to re-route the cooling system other wise it was routed under the engine can you believe?if a pipe burst at sea i would be in big trouble. there is about ten mil clearance all around,i had never been a fan of volvo but this one runs like a sewing machine. regards chris.

Presumably you remove the impeller from the raw water pump, as it's being run dry.

I connect the garden hose to the inlet side of the raw water pump, turn it on about half way then start the engine. But my exhaust outlet is lower that the exhaust manifold, so no chance of creating a backflow into the engine.

I have a Perk 4-107 ..... seacock is just in front of engine ... not under. But space is limited and normal op of seacock is hand in via cut-out in engine box front bulkhead.
