Hi

Just wondering if there is a guideline to general purpose Dacron Genoa material. (Marblehead) I usual carry a number one 135% on the roller as its the most common used for me.
Boat is a dehler 34 top. not racing but extensive cruising all weather.

Is 320 to 350 GSM considered on the heavy side. I have read online data, varies somewhat to who is supplying the sail. Anyone know thanks

I guess any sailmaker should be able to give better advice than what you will likely find here, but to me the numbers you mention sound reasonable.
Have you found data similar to this?
Cloth weight - SailSelect
FWIW, I had a triradial furling genoa from North 9 years ago, circa 25 sq m on a 29' boat. The cloth weight proposed by North was 7.5 (American) Oz. ≈ 322 gsm.

Would a Jib/Genoa with luff 150mm shorter than manual spec be OK. Thinking 100% JIB. Opinions please. Reason being is it is new and 1/3 cheaper than retail price.

Original is 11.3 luff, one I have been after is 11.12 cm.
