According to a rather small article in MBY September issue, page 8.

Russian firms have started offering pirate hunting cruises! (god knows how much you have to pay) Apparently they cruise slowly off the Somalian coast in a effort to "attract" pirates, whereupon their punters open fire with machine guns and grenade launchers! it's a sick world isn't it?? or perhaps there are people out there that would like to join one of their cruises?

Assuming this is not a mickey-take I would be interested to see who is insuring the ship, what protection is available if a pax is injured (not neccessarily by pirates - weapons bite) and if the pirates don't start to recognise the vessel after a couple of 'cruises' and keep clear.

Equally I am sure the Kenyan authorities/airlines will love catering for a bunch of pax dis/embarking with 'personal' weapons.

"It's like a safari, only better" - yes, I have always wanted to kill people - how unpleasant is that ?

Doubtless something like this would appeal to some of our more red-necked cousins from across the pond !!

I still reckon it is a wind-up.

It is a wind up and was shown to be so when it first circulated the internet a few months back- though no doubt there's a twisted market for this sort of thing.
