Now u/s Aldi marine binoculars

A few years ago got a pair of 7x50 marime binoculars from Aldi when they where being sold by them, cheap and reasonable quality. Did the job. They are now u/s, lens fogging up, but have lasted approx 10 years.
Have looked over the years to see if they repeat the offer but no. My question is do anyone sell a similar model with respect to price and would meet the quality these binoculars had?.

I had some (from Aldi I think) still working well, self focussing with range finder graticule and compass ( compass has failed though)

A 10 year warrantee (or should that be guaranty) would be worth having. :encouragement:

My lidl ones have a 5 yr warranty.

There's been a few threads in the past about the Aldi marine binoculars. Many comments were fairly negative. In my own case, the compass developed a large bubble which interfered with the readings and after a few months the binoculars went out of collimation, double image. I should have taken them back but didn't.

I've no idea if this would work, but it might be worth unscrewing the objective lenses and putting everything on a radiator/in an airing cupboard for a few days. If you can work out what used to be sealed, but is no longer, and fix that, they might be good for another 10 years!

I bought mine about 12 years ago from a 2nd hand shop, compass now u/s but they can be sourced online, otherwise still performing well. I don't think that they are nitrogen filled.
