Instead of a Dufour 24 I could laze on the cabin sofa dreaming of distant shores in between caulking the decks or graving in some planking that was rotten.Instead all my Dufour 24 offered is dusting and rearranging the bookshelf……wooden boats are better for your dreams and soul

You just knew it had to happen.....five minutes after becoming a proud boat owner.....he’s dreaming of an upgrade. This is the exact reason wives don’t say yes when hubby says I want to buy a boat

I believe it is called "Two footitis". While it is incurable, fortunately it is treatable by buying progressively larger boats. Unfortunately the cost of treatment is not one that is bourne by any medical plan that I have encountered.

My wife calls it ‘never satisfied’.....

So when Gauguin was in Tahiti on his ketch, did he moan?
No , he got his box of brushes out and started to look up the local muses.

He might not even have owned a ketch but, details.

That’s s euphemism I’ve not heard before. Fairly sure I remember reading he was rather “prolific” and shared a variety of STD’s amongst the populous.

I have to admit to a longing to own a Tahiti ketch probably from reading those insidious Hiscock books but what with one thing and another I think the nearest I am going to get is the Dufour 24 and the rias of Galicia 🙂
Could be worse! You could be stuck with a wee Westerly and the wet and windy rias of the Solent.... :ROFLMAO:

No, the Westerly 22, surely?

I know the 22 has less room inside, but surely you owe it to your fellow sailors not to subject their eyes to the distended cabin that was stuffed onto the Nomad version?
Met the sailor who entered the jester race to the Azores in his westerly22 .He was cruising with his girlfriend and I asked how the boat was in a blow she replied “ok I was below reading and drinking tea “ …..certainly has something right about it !I am sure once we can start tidying up the Dufour and chucking out stuff and making it “our” boat we will lots of fun!
