Greetings all.

Does anyone have experience of Novosail, the folk who claim to have a remarkable system for cleaning sails, rope, and the like?

Yes, I did search, and it threw up no detail.

Thanks,

JaP

They cleaned my genoa earlier this year - not cheap, but the results were excellent. No connection, but a satisfied customer.

me too - had my 2 year old sails (main and genoa) cleaned by Novosail this year. Got rid of the mildew - they now look like new again. No connection with them - they were expensive although they have an introductory rate this year, but it is a good system. I will probably do this every 2-3 years depending on mildew etc

thankyou

Thank you for your comments. It's always good to have positive feedback from happy customers.

We're very different from most laundry services as we understand textiles and the chemicals that will work best with them. We can process all sails and accessories successfully.

Our service does cost that bit more, but as with many things in life, you do get what you pay for.

We give generous discounts to Associations or Clubs, and would be happy to discuss the details of this.

Alternatively, speak to your local sailmaker and request they use NovoSail to launder your sails this year as every sailmaker in the UK has been given one free sail clean by us to give away. You may be the lucky one!

The team at NovoSail look forward to hearing from you soon.

I had my main and genoa done earlier this year after having spent six years on without ever been removed and stored. They came back very clean, and although the mildew did not go completely it faded it by a great deal.

The final bill was around 20% less than what I was quoted by two separate local sail lofts who would have sent them for a manual wash, don't know where.

Ask to price for the wash on size, not weight.

Had my Genoa cleaned in Palma last year, came up like new. The sail has since covered some 3500 miles (a lot of it motor sailing) and it still looks and handles almost like new. I have been very impressed.
