November Monthly photo competion .

Graham> I like your photo. It's of one of the best bits of the Bristol Channel!

I guess we don't need to get into rules and regulations about this, but I think there should be a category of "best November photo taken in November" etc.

Fir enough. Mine was October.

No really, well it shouldn't be it's like saying you painted a picture and sold it for a lot of money but it wasn't painted by you, it was photoshoped.

In the days before digital photography professional photographers and keen amateurs would routinely retouch and adjust colours whilst developing photographs. This was always totally allowed for photography competitions.

Surely Photoshop is just the modern digital technique employed to do this. All club and professional photography competition permit it. Surely it is just another part of the skill of producing the final product. I bet you won't find many photos in YBW's magazines that haven't been retouched, and I'm sure PCUK isn't the only one who has utilised Photoshop or similar software here.

I only started it as a bit of fun during the winter months.Lets not get too bogged down with rules.I think if you took the photo and you photoshopped it then its still your work.

Re pics to be taken during the month thats a fair one as it will encourage us to get out with our cameras.

My pic was taken in October so is disqualified,I wouldnt have picked my own anyway.

Keep the pictures coming in ,look forward to seeing them, Cheers Graham

What an amazing view to wake up to every morning.must be from near Weston somewhere?

Keep the pics coming .I have 2 or 3 favourites to chose from . Winner gets to judge next months comp.

I had a thought. If we kept this going for a year and selected 12 photos taken 1 per month as winners they could be used as a BC calendar .Out in time for Xmas 2010.

Calendars

Nice one Ash.That makes at least two of us then .I think Photobox doesnt hav e a miniumum order so provided we can keep the photo comp going for a whole year theres nothing to stop it being a success.

To get good quality pictures we would need the full size file though so will have to get the winners to email me the full size picture file I will load them onto photobox each month as insurance against the computer crashing.
