UKHO Permanent/Temporary/Preliminary notices:
1. New Editions of ADMIRALTY Charts to be published on 28th August, 2025 - SN Chart 1827 - Harbours on the South East Coast of England.

A Approaches to Ramsgate. 1:12,500
B Pegwell Bay and the River Stour. 1:12,500
C Ramsgate. 1:5,000
D Broadstairs. 1:5,000
E Margate. 1:7,500
2. ENGLAND - South Coast - Depths. - Earlier this year we had new depths over the two wrecks adjacent to the Western entrance of Dover Harbour vide NtM 2656. The depth is today revised down to 7.1m over the second which is the larger wreck.
3. ENGLAND - East Coast - NM Blocks. - Two UKHO Blocks, one for the SN chart and the SC chart of Lowestoft Harbour showing detail close outside by the harbour wall north of the entrance.
4. ENGLAND - East Coast - Depths. - One reduction of depth in the centre of Barking Reach, River Thames between Margaret and Cross Ness. Unlikely to hinder leisure craft.
5. NETHERLANDS - Buoy. - A new north cardinal buoy has been placed closed to the safe water buoy marking the entrance of the Slijkgat channel leading to Stellendam.
6. ENGLAND - East Coast - Depths. - Two revised depths in the Two-Way Route at the Long Sand Head. Ample depths for leisure craft. The image includes an earlier reduction of depth in the area vide NtM 3310/25 in week 31.
Local:
1. Approaches to Sheerness – Grain Spit - Cable Laying Work. -
as part of the ongoing Neuconnect Interconnector project, remedial burial operations of a previously laid subsea cable will be taking place. Operations will consist of excavation of sections of the trench using barge-mounted equipment along the approximate section of cable shown below. The barge BD 6072, multi-cat vessel Sophia D and workboat Mor-ki-Tarow will be on site from 20th August 2025 with an estimated completion date of 30th September 2025. All vessels involved in operational activities will exhibit the appropriate lights and day-time shapes prescribed by the International Regulations for Preventing Collisions at Sea, relative to operations. Vessels will also transmit an Automatic Identification System (AIS) signature. Mariners are reminded to navigate with caution, keep a safe distance from works craft and maintain a continuous watch on VHF 74 when transiting Grain Spit and the Swatchway. 2. Sheerness Harbour - Sheerness Car Terminal Extension – Diving and Dredging Operations - diving operations are due to take place in Sheerness Docks in the vicinity of the new car terminal extension. Diving works to remove seabed anomalies prior to dredging is now expected to commence on or around 18th August 2025 with projected completion by 22nd August 2025. All diving work will be carried out from the crane barge “GPS Boxer”, accompanied by the tug “GPS Racia” who will maintain a listening watch on VHF Channel 74 at all times and display the required signals for respective operations. All diving will be conducted from 2 separate dive sites (barge positions) within the approximate area shown. When diving operations have ceased, dredging work adjacent to the new car terminal extension will commence. Dredging operations are expected to start on or around 22nd August 2025 with a
projected completion date of 7th September 2025. Dredging work will be focussed along the berth edge as shown below and will be carried out by back-hoe excavator situated on the crane barge “GPS Boxer”. “GPS Boxer” will be accompanied by the tug “GPS Racia”, both craft will display the required signals for respective operations by day and night and will maintain a listening watch on VHF Channel 74 at all times. All vessels manoeuvring within or transiting Sheerness Harbour during this period should navigate with extreme caution, reduce speed and wash and maintain a listening watch on VHF Channel 74 at all times.
3. East Coast of England - The Wash - Approaches to King’s Lynn - W2 Buoy back on Station - W2 light buoy (52° 54’.942N 000°16’.003E) is now back on station.
4. River Crouch - Pinto Lighted Buoy - NAVIGATION - the Pinto Lighted Buoy in approximate position: 51°37.081 N, 000°52.609 E is unlit
