2. BELGIUM - Restricted area. - A new restricted area barring fishing or anchoring. This area is very small, just adjacent to the Westhinder Beacon. Given there is a power cable just there, not the place to anchor or fish! Image, of course. See it at: Notices to Mariners

1. River Crouch -
Removal of Town Pontoon, Burnham-on-Crouch – Amendment to NtM no. 33 of 2022 - INFORMATION - Mariners are advised that the damaged Maldon District Council owned Town Pontoon at Burnham on Crouch in approximate position: 51° 37.45 N 00° 49.110 E will be removed, along with shore to pontoon access ramp. Works are scheduled to commence Monday 15th August 2022. The associated fixing piles will remain in situ.
Please note the outer most/seaward pair of piles previously securing the hammerhead will now be marked with a QUICK FLASH GREEN LIGHT and not with a fixed green light as previously advised.
2. East Anglia Ports Notices to Mariners
- Updated Information for Leisure vessels arriving from outside the UK - Masters of leisure vessels arriving from outside the UK are reminded of the following updated requirements:
- Leisure vessels are to display an International Code of Signals ‘Q’-flag, when entering the 12 nautical mile limit.
- You must seek immigration clearance before disembarking the vessel, by calling the local Border Force office. For Ipswich and Lowestoft that is +44(0)300 072 4322. You do not have to call if you have existing rights to enter or remain (incl Settled Status), or when only briefly exiting the 12 nautical mile limit.
- When arriving direct from outside the UK you must phone the National Yachtline on +44(0)300 123 2012. You will need to inform the Yachtline if any of the following apply:
• UK VAT has not been paid on the vessel
• you have on board goods which are to be treated as surplus stores as per Notice 69A.
• you have any prohibited or restricted goods
• there is any notifiable illness on board
• there are any people on board who need immigration clearance
• any repairs or modifications, other than running repairs, have been carried out since the vessel last left the UK
• you have any goods for personal use on which you need to declare and pay UK tax or duty and cannot do so via the online service.
- To support notification requirements there is now an active on line web portal that can be used to submit notifications. This can be found at Tell Border Force and HMRC you are sailing to or from the UK in a pleasure craft Incoming yachts need to create an account which can be accessed for all future travel and to check the status of declarations that have been submitted.
- Waste contaminated with food and Food Waste, e.g. food and wrapping materials that have been abroad, are now classed as International Catering Waste should be disposed of in an appropriate manner.
3. River Colne - Large Speed Buoy Markers - Please be advised that Brightlingsea Harbour have laid two speed marker buoys at the following locations; 1. 51° 47’ .75 N 001°00’ .80 E 2. 51° 48’ .43 N 001°00’ .01 E
They will be in place annually from May 1st until October 1st. The speed buoys mark the point at which the speed is unlimited, South of 1 or North of 2. Vessels navigating between these buoys must strictly adhere to the speed limits in place.

Brightlingsea has a 4kt speed restriction dans le harbour. There has been some police activity against Jetskis there recently.
