1. ENGLAND - East Coast - Buoy. -
A correction of designation of a SHB in the River Crouch off Creeksea. The designation is No 15 which is already correct on the Imray chart image shown.

1. RIVER THAMES - SEA REACH - GEOPHYSICAL & UXO SURVEY -
on or about the 05th August 2023, survey operations will begin off the Isle of Grain, Kent, in the area marked on the chartlet (SEE ON THE LOCAL LIST AT Notices to Mariners. The survey operations will take approximately 4 weeks and will be carried out by vessel SHORE PRESENCE, pictured. SHORE PRESENCE will be towing Bathymetry, Sonar and Magnetometry equipment no further than 50m behind the vessel and will be carrying out a parallel-line survey within the area marked on the chartlet. The SHORE PRESENCE has been requested to keep clear of all vessels proceeding in the main shipping channels at all times and will keep a listening watch on VHF Channel 69. Further details of the survey works will be broadcast as needed by London VTS.
2. RIVER THAMES - SEA REACH TO BLACK DEEP - GEOPHYSICAL & UXO SURVEY - On or about the 05th August 2023 survey operations will take place between Sea Reach No 1 and a position NE of Black Deep No 10 Buoy shown in the area marked on the chartlet. The survey operations will take approximately 4 weeks and will be carried out by vessel MINTIS, pictured. MINTIS will be towing Bathymetry, Sonar and Magnetometry equipment no further than 50m behind the vessel and will be carrying out a parallel-line survey within the area marked on the chartlet. The MINTIS has been requested to keep clear of all vessels proceeding in the main shipping channels at all times and will keep a listening watch on VHF Channels 16/69. Further details of the survey works will be broadcast as needed by London VTS.
3. River Medway - Saltpan Reach - BP Isle Of Grain No.1 Jetty – Inspection & Repairs - inspection and repair work will be taking place at BP Isle of Grain Jetty No.1. Work along the jetty face will commence on Monday 7th August 2023 and will be completed on Tuesday 8th August. The multi-cat “Medway Hunter” will be working along the jetty with men working close to the waterline, “Medway Hunter” will maintain a listening watch on VHF Channel 74 at all times.
All vessels are requested to pass with extreme caution, minimise their wash and monitor VHF Ch.74 at all times. Admiralty Chart No. 1834 refers. Further information may be obtained from Medway VTS on VHF Channel 74, call sign “Medway VTS” or telephone 0151 949 6148 or 0151 949 6650.(recorded lines).
4. River Orwell, Harwich Harbour, Pye End or River Stour - Wind, Tide & Oar Event - a engineless sailing jolly will be underway on Saturday 26th August 2023. Engineless Sailing Jolly is a non-competitive and recreational event focused on fun rather than formal racing, without any auxiliary engine, and with their outboard motor removed or securely stowed. The race will be divided into 3 classes based on the length of the vessel. The course will start and finish at Pin Mill on the River Orwell. The route will proceed through Harwich Harbour using the designated yacht track, avoiding the shipping channels, and will continue to either Pye End or into the River Stour. All barges and associated vessels will be monitoring VHF 68 and 71. For more information contact Orwell Navigation Services on VHF Ch 68. This notice is self-cancelling and expires at 2359 on 26/08/2023.
5. River Crouch, River Roach - Otter Week - INFORMATION - the annual ‘Otter Week’ event is scheduled to be held between Friday 4th August 2023 and Thursday 10th August 2023. During this period there will be organised daily racing in the vicinity of Burnham and the entrance to and within the River Roach. The small sailing vessels taking part will predominantly be crewed by young people some of whom will have limited experience and be at a novice level. Safety boats will be in attendance at all times. Owners and masters of all vessels navigating in the areas where these races are underway are respectfully requested to keep a good look out, navigate at a safe speed and keep their wash to an absolute minimum.
