2. ENGLAND - East Coast - Depths. Light.- 5 reductions of depth and one new light(!) at Blackwall and Greenwich: one reduced depth just off Blackwall Point and a ‘new’ light off Blackwall Basin. I say ‘new’ because the light is already marked on Imray. The remaining reductions are in Greenwich Reach. Two images:
3. ENGLAND - East Coast - Depths. - One small reduction of depth close to the jetties at Purfleet. Unlikely to hinder leisure craft and not where you ought to be!
4. ENGLAND - East Coast - Drying heights. Depths. - This notice locates two drying heights on the knolls at the Deben entrance. The East Coast Pilot chartlet from Imray already records thse drying heights and it is best to use that chartlet. Download it at: Downloads | ECP
5. ENGLAND - East Coast - Depths. - Notice 1705 in week 21 notified three reduction of depth in Greenwich Reach. This notice is revising and reducing one of those soundings. Unlikely to hinder leisure craft.
6. ENGLAND - East Coast - Buoyage. - A slight movement of two yellow special lit buoys just off Sizewell Bank. The Image on Imray is already correct

1. SEA REACH TO BLACK DEEP - GEOPHYSICAL & UXO SURVEY -
on or about the 23rd of June 2023 survey operations will take place between Sea Reach No 1 and a position NE of Black Deep No 10 Buoy shown in the area marked on the chartlet (see the Local list at Notices to Mariners). The survey operations will take approximately 5-6 weeks and will be carried out by vessel MINTIS, pictured. MINTIS will be towing Bathymetry, Sonar and Magnetometry equipment no further than 50m behind the vessel and will be carrying out a parallel-line survey within the area marked on the chartlet. The MINTIS has been requested to keep clear of all vessels proceeding in the main shipping channels at all times and will keep a listening watch on VHF Channel 16/69. Further details of the survey works will be broadcast by London VTS.
2. SEA REACH - CALOR GAS CANVEY WORKS - during the periods listed in the table below, contractors instructed by the operators of Calor Gas Canvey Jetty will carry out works to the marine loading arm on the jetty.
1st period of works: From 26th June 2023 To 30th June 2023
2nd period of works 01st August 2023 to 07th August 2023 Working times: 0800 – 1700. These works will involve heavy lifting operations by crane barge THAMES TRANSPORTER. Tug SILVER BEAM and workboats BADGER and/or MARY J are expected to be in attendance. The chartlet shows the general location of the works, indicated by the red rectangle. Requirements to proceed with caution or at slow speed will be made in accordance with the procedures set out in the Port of London Authority’s Port Information Guide, under ‘London VTS’, ‘Section 4’ with the International Code Flags ‘Romeo Yankee’, which are illustrated below, displayed. The display of these signals will be in addition to any lights or shapes required under the International Regulations for Preventing Collisions at Sea.
3. WOOLWICH REACH - MULTI-AGENCY EMERGENCY EXERCISE - there will be a Multi-Agency Emergency Exercise taking place on Saturday 1st July 2023 in the vicinity of the Woolwich Ferry Terminals. Exercise activities are due to commence at approximately 08:30 and conclude around 16:00. Due to the nature of these exercises there may be enhanced traffic control measures undertaken from time to time in the Thames Barrier Control Zone, with the potential of one-way working in the vicinity of the Woolwich Ferry Terminals between 12:15 and 12:45. Should one-way working be established a Harbour Service Launch will be deployed to assist these operations, which will be displaying ‘blue flashing’ lights.
To support these operations mariners are requested to pay special attention to their wash and draw-off when passing the Woolwich Ferry and multi-agency vessels in attendance. Further details will be broadcast by London VTS on VHF Channel 14 as required.
4. Harwich Haven Channel Deepening Project: Plough / Bed levelling Tug Operations: From around 28/06/23, the Subsea Construction Vessel, Assister (IMO: 9193783), will be carrying out plough / bed-levelling operations in area H of the Deep-Water Channel and in the Harbour (areas A and B1) - see diagrams. Due to the nature of the rigging and towing arrangements, vessels should not come alongside the Assister during bed-levelling operations. The dredging contractor is the Van Oord / Boskalis Westminster Joint Venture appointed by Harwich Haven Authority to carry out the Harwich Haven Channel Deepening Project. For detailed information regarding the location of the dredging plant, please contact Harwich VTS (VHF 71) or listen to the daily Channel Deepening VHF broadcasts (VHF 11). All vessels are subject to Harwich VTS Traffic Organisation. Given the increased frequency of vessel movements and dredging operations mariners are
reminded of the importance of regulated vessel reporting requirements and necessity to maintain a good all-around lookout.
5. Harwich Haven Channel Deepening Project: Plough Tug operations: From around the 23 June, the multicat Nero (IMO no. 9641481), will carry out plough dredging operations in the Harbour and approach channel. The Nero will also act as a support tug for the Backhoe Dredger Goliath when it is operating in the Harbour (expected approx. 30/06/23). The dredging contractor is the Van Oord / Boskalis Westminster Joint Venture appointed by Harwich Haven Authority to carry out the Harwich Haven Channel Deepening Project.
For detailed information regarding the location of the dredging plant, please contact Harwich VTS or listen to the daily Channel Deepening VHF broadcasts.
