1. ENGLAND - East Coast – River Thames - Buoyage. -
Deletion of two yellow buoys off Greenhithe, River Thames.
2. ENGLAND - East Coast - Dredged areas. Legends. - Notification that part of the Trinity container port has been dredged to 16.5m. Interesting that it is at the Orwell River end of the port! Big stuff in the narrowest part!
3. BELGIUM - Platform. Restricted area. - A new platform just east of the Ostend harbour entrance. A prohibited area of 220m radius around it.
4. ENGLAND - East Coast - Buoy. - The solitary PHB in the Crouch Fairway (the No 2) is permanently removed as notified earlier by the local CHA NtM.
5. ENGLAND - East Coast - Buoy. Foul. - One ship’s mooring off Greenhithe, River Thames is removed and a Foul inserted in its place.

Local

1. LONG REACH- River Thames - VOPAK (NAVIGATOR) TERMINAL - DOLPHIN REMOVAL WORKS -
On or about 21st June 2021, dolphin removal works will commence at Vopak 1. The works will last approximately 5 days and will be undertaken from barge DEVELOPER and DIVECO 5 will also be in attendance. The works include diving and crane operations and may require vessels to proceed with caution or at slow speed. Any such requests will be made by London VTS on channel 68 in accordance with port-wide Notice to Mariners 08/2021. The vessels should display International Code Flags ‘Romeo Yankee (RY)’ and ‘Alpha (A)’ as appropriate. The chartlet shows the approximate location of the works. 2. An overview of the completion of the Outer Crouch Buoyage Changes - This has been dealt with in previous weeks stage by stage but is now described in complete in one notice. I have 'shopped' a chart to show the revised arrangement and have a two page pdf showing the final image and on the reverse or page 2 full details of the complete changes. 3. Unlit Navigation Lights - River Orwell - Mariners are advised the follow navigation lights are unlit : – Sludge Loading Berth & Jetty South (51o59.980’N 001o16.370’E), – Sludge Loading Berth and Jetty North (52o01.720’N, 001o09.850’E), – Suffolk Yacht Harbour Rear (51o59.980’N 001o16.370’E);
4. Lowestoft Harbour and Approaches – Offshore Trials and Transits of an Unmanned Surface Vessel (USV) - an unmanned surface vessel (USV) will commence trials off the Suffolk coast commencing from Wednesday 16th June. Offshore trials will cover an area of approx. 1.0nm diameter centred around position 52° 28.15’N, 01° 48.65’E (approx. 0.5nm SW of the East Newcombe Light Buoy). The trials are anticipated to be spread over a period of approximately 4 weeks and will be subject to favourable weather conditions. During this period the USV is expected to undertake numerous transits. The USV name is ‘Intrepid Barracuda’ and will be remotely controlled by a USV ‘Pilot’. The vessel is capable of working 24/7, it has AIS, Navigation lights, a radar reflector and has a yellow superstructure ??? (see the photo which is in the Local List on the above quoted page). The USV will transit to and from the offshore area from the Royal Norfolk and Suffolk Yacht Club in Lowestoft Outer Harbour. When transiting Harbour areas and approaches the USV will be escorted by safety boat ‘Eastern Horizon 2’ or ‘Norfolk Swift’. The Safety Boat will be monitoring VHF Ch14 during harbour transits. The safety boat will be in close attendance of the USV when within approx. 0.5 nautical miles of the Harbour entrance. I defy anyone to see the 'yellow superstructure', nay, anyone sees the superstructure I'll give them a present!
5. The Wash, King’s Lynn Harbour - River Great Ouse – A47 Bridge Inspections & Cleaning -
inspections and cleaning operations (y) are to be carried out on the A47 Bridge that crosses the River Great Ouse at King’s Lynn on the following dates and times. • W/C 19-07-21 at 2000hrs until 26-07-21 at 0500hrs. • Works to be carried out daily between 2000hrs & 0600hrs. An under bridge work platform will be deployed for these operations which will be fully illuminated and can be manoeuvred to allow emergency river passage if required. A dedicated safety vessel “SBS Surveyor” will be on the river at all times to maintain a safe watch for any marine traffic. SBS Surveyor can be contacted on VHF CH 14 & 16. Mariners are requested to navigate with caution in the vicinity when these operations are underway. Chartlet available on the usual page.
6. Blakeney Harbour - 2 Notices, one of two buoy changes, the second on pilotage guidance: Blakeney Harbour Entrance - the following two buoys have been installed today to mark the new entry channel into Blakeney Harbour:
BLAKENEY FAIRWAY - Unlighted buoy. Spherical RW, Position: N 52° 59.174’ E 000° 58.484’: HJORDIS EAST Lighted buoy: FlG(1s) Conical G. Position: N 52° 58.997’ E 000° 58.311. Blakeney Harbour Entrance - entering BLAKENEY Harbour should note that the entrance channel has now shifted to the EAST of the HJORDIS wreck. From the BLAKENEY FAIRWAY BUOY (N 52° 59.174’. E 000° 58.484’) vessels should head for the GREEN starboard HJORDIS EAST BUOY (N 52° 58.997’ E 000° 58.311’) and then proceed to the RED port buoy (N 52° 58.942’ E 000° 58.147’) and the GREEN starboard buoy (N 52° 58.871 E 000° 57.978’) and onward passing the green and red buoys leading into the harbour. There is also a guiding photo you can download. Vessels are strongly advised not to attempt entry into the harbour beyond 1.5 hrs either side of HW.
