1. BELGIUM - Buoyage. -
A yellow wave recorder has been moved in the Zeebrugge harbour. See image for location. See page Notices to Mariners
2. ENGLAND - South East Coast - Beacon -
One of the two unlit beacons at the entrance of Broadstairs is missing; this is the beacon that marked the end of the slipway. This had been reported by the Port of Ramsgate earlier this year. No usable image available for me: suggested you refer to page 170 in East Coast Pilot 5
3. ENGLAND - South East Coast - Depths. - Four reduction of depth in the outer harbour and entrance of Ramsgate.
4. BELGIUM - Restricted area. Wind farm. - The Mermaid and Seastar Wind Farms off Belgium are now complete and the exclusion safety zone for the two ‘new’ wind farms and the ‘old’ ones now have a quite large single exclusion zone. Nothing new really as the construction area was already an exclusion zone.

1. WHOLE RIVER - VESSELS SALUTE TO HM THE QUEEN -
The Secretary of State for Transport has requested that all vessels, of all sizes across the United Kingdom, participate in a salute to Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II to mark the Platinum Jubilee on Saturday 4th June at 1200 (Midday) – Local time (GMT+1). Vessels wishing to salute the occasion are to sound one long blast (between 6 and 30 seconds) on their vessel’s whistle at 1200 exactly. London VTS will broadcast a reminder 30 minutes before the event and again at 1 minute to Midday. Harwich, Medway and all East Anglia Ports have issued similar notices. See the detaqil in the local list on ther above quoted web page.
2. River Medway - The Queen’s Platinum Jubilee River Pageant -
Notice is hereby given that to celebrate the platinum jubilee of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, a river pageant is planned to take place on the River Medway between Saltpan Reach and Rochester Bridge on Saturday 4th June 2022. A fleet of approximately 100 vessels of varying size, age and type will parade up river culminating in a salute in the vicinity of Sun Pier.
The pageant plan has been formulated on the basis of a predetermined list of attendees so that safety of navigation and participants can be maintained throughout. River user’s safety is paramount and it is essential that only vessels planned to attend actually take part in the pageant, all other vessels are advised to keep clear of the main convoy until the finale at approximately 1630hrs.
The proposed timings/locations for the pageant flotilla are as follows:
• 1230hrs – Main formation begins in Saltpan Reach between buoys 12/13 - VIP vessel departs Sun Pier - Chatham vessels leave Marina to head down river.
• 1330hrs – Main formation heading up river meets the VIP vessel and Chatham vessels to amalgamate in Long Reach/Pinup Reach - All vessels to assemble into their squadrons ready for the Pageant.
• 1400hrs - Rowing fleet departs Medway Yacht Club, leading procession.
• 1430hrs - Rowing fleet starts to pass Sun Pier, the main viewing platform for the public.
• 1440hrs - Safety boat ‘Kellaway’ takes up position at Rochester Bridge to alert outward bound river traffic of the approaching fleet.
• 1500hrs - All vessels now past Sun Pier - Some to secure to pre-allocated moorings, and some to continue up to Bridge Reach, swing and then proceed back down against the flood tide.
• 1530hrs – The Grand Cacophony – the culmination of the Pageant – 2 minute whistle/horn salute from all vessels taking part - Fort Amherst’s 21-gun salute - Chatham Dockyard’s sirens, bells and steam whistles will sound, followed by a patriotic singalong led from shoreside.
• 1530 – 1630hrs - Final vessel moorings/ dispersal.
VHF communications for the pageant will be conducted on channel 6, however, the pageant control boat, callsign “Big Red” and all designated safety craft will also be monitoring VHF channels 74 & 16 at all times. Peel Ports harbour launch “Fulmar” will also be in attendance with the duty Harbour Master onboard. Medway VTS will liaise with pageant control to manage any commercial traffic that may interact with the fleet. There is a chartlet showing locations which you can download from the Local list in the above quoted web page.
3. Felixstowe - Trinity Berth 6 restitution works -
As part of the restitution works on berth 6, divers will be working throughout daylight hours, commencing Thursday 26th May, diving is expected to continue for 10 days, between bollards 104
and 108. A marine exclusion zone is requested between bollards 100 and 112 extending 70m out from the quay face. The divers will clear the water when vessels for the adjacent berths (Trinity 7 and Trinity 5) are in the process of berthing/unberthing. Dive teams will show Flag Alpha and will be monitoring VHF Ch 71 at all times. Vessels are requested to pass with minimum wash.
4. River Medway – Chatham Reach – “Rats Bay” - Removal of Small Craft Moorings - the small craft moorings located in the “Rats Bay” area of Chatham Reach have been removed. All buoys and associated groundwork have been completely recovered and will not be re-laid. The buoys were centred at the approximate location which yhou can see on the Local list.

That's it. 'Gladys and I 'did' the Spitway today. A new chartlet will be created, probably later tomorrow afternoon. First impressions before the post processing was that little had changed.
