UKHO Permanent/Temporary/Preliminary Notices
1. ENGLAND - East Coast - Depths. - 7 reduction of depth in Fisherman’s Gat. Still ample water for leisure craft and still just outside the west side of the buoyage. But note there is just the suggestion that the drying patch of the Long Sand on the mid-way west side of the Gat is shallowing: still plenty of water though.
2. ENGLAND - East Coast - Legend. - ‘Works in progress (2023)' to be annotated on the east side of Waveney Dock in Lowestoft Harbour.
3. ENGLAND - East Coast - NM Blocks. Bridges. - Two new UKHO blocks marking the new bridge now opened in Great Yarmouth Haven: one block is for a SN Chart, the other for a SC chart. Other SNC and SCCs are to be drawn in on charts.
4. ENGLAND - East Coast - Depths. - Three reductions of depth in the River Medway, two are amply water for leisure craft, the third is a sounding of 1.4m just off Grain Pier.
5. ENGLAND - East Coast - NM Block. - A new UKHO block for the River Thames, Halfway Reach off Dagenham.
6. ENGLAND - East Coast - Buoy. - New lit port hand buoy close inshore close to the Gas Terminals at Bacton, Norfolk.
7. ENGLAND - East Coast - Depths. - Three new reduced depths just outside the entrance of Lowestoft Harbour: two still have ample water but the third is at 1.5m, a significant reduced from 4+m on the Lowestoft Bank hindering access to or from the Stanford Channel. Worth noting.
8. ENGLAND - East Coast - Depths. - One reduction of depth on the east edges of the Roughs Shoals. At 9m unlikely to hinder leisure craft.
9. ENGLAND - East Coast - Wreck. - A new dangerous wreck ‘amongst’ the moorings on the south-east side in Bridge Reach before Rochester Bridge (1.6m over the wreck). NtM 1107 earlier reported two other fouls close to this reported positon.
Local.
1. RIVER THAMES - HALFWAY REACH - WHITE MOUNTAIN BOLLARD & FENDER WORKS - on or about 12th March 2024, contractors instructed by the operators of White Mountain Roadstone terminal will commence works to replace mooring bollards and renew wooden fendering on the quay wall. The general location of the works is indicated by the red box on the chartlet shown on the usual webpage: Notices to Mariners (Select the Local List). These works will be conducted between 0700 and 1700, Monday to Friday; and will involve lifting operations, construction materials delivered by barge and personnel working on the waterline; tugs and safety boats may be in attendance. These works are expected to be complete within 7 weeks from commencement. Requirements to proceed with caution or at slow speed will be made in accordance with the procedures set out in the Port of London Authority’s Port Information Guide, under ‘London VTS’, ‘Section 4’ with the International Code Flags ‘Romeo Yankee’. The display of these signals will be in addition to any lights or shapes required under local regulations and the International Regulations for Preventing Collisions at Sea. Further details will be broadcast as appropriate by London VTS on VHF channel 14.
2. PORT OF GREAT YARMOUTH - Haven Bridge - Update to NtM 14 2024 - Haven Bridge is now operational.
Bridges
Vessels will be grouped together on lifts whenever possible. When craft are to transit the bridge in opposite directions, those vessels going ‘with the tide’ will be given priority.

Please refer to Peel Ports Great Yarmouth website for further details on making bookings and bridge opening times. The Bridge is only staffed ten minutes before a lift. Mariners are reminded to maintain a listening watch on VHF Channel 12 at all times whilst within the Port of Great Yarmouth and to advise ‘Yarmouth Radio’ of their intention to conduct any manoeuvre within the Port prior to doing so. For further information please contact Great Yarmouth LPS on VHF Channel 12 (callsign ‘Yarmouth Radio’) or 01493 335511. Notice to Mariners PPGY NTM 14 23/02/2024 is now cancelled.

PORT OF GREAT YARMOUTH - REMOVAL OF PONTOON AT BERTH 16 TRINITY QUAY - that decommissioning & removal of the Gardline – Trinity Quay pontoon is due to commence from 08:00 on 07th March 2024 of a period of 2 days. Olympic Civil & Marine will be decommissioning the pontoon with contractors working close to the water line directly from the quay side on berth 16 with each pontoon modular and link bridge lifted ashore by crane. Masters are advised to exercise extreme caution when approaching or passing the work site, to keep well clear of the work area and to pass at the slowest safe manoeuvring speed.
4. London Array Offshore Wind Farm - 2 Notices -
Jack Up Operations (Ziton Wind) - the Jack-up Vessel “Wind” provided by Ziton, will be on site from 20/03/2024 until 30/04/2024 to carrying out Heavy lift Component exchanges at various locations throughout the windfarm. Jack-up Vessel: Ziton Wind Jack-Up Vessel Ziton Wind has a length of 55m, breadth of 18m with a draft of 4.8m. Equipment will be periodically deployed and suspended from the vessel crane during jack up operations. A 500m radius restricted zone will be in place, centred on the Ziton Wind whilst pinned on location. If access is required to this zone for non-project vessel traffic, authorisation must be requested from the vessel master. The vessel will be supported by CTV’s Windcat 27, 29, 21, 36, 39 and Spectrum2 as required during its time on site at London Array.
Jack Up Operations (Ziton Wind Server) - the Jack-up Vessel “Wind Server” provided by Ziton, will be on site from 20/03/2024 until the 30/04/2024 carrying out heavy lift component exchanges at various locations throughout the windfarm.
Jack-Up Vessel Wind Server has a length of 79.6m and breadth of 32.3m with a draft of 4.5m. Equipment will be periodically deployed and suspended from the vessel crane during jack up operations. A 500m radius restricted zone will be in place, centred on the Wind Server whilst on location. If access is required to this zone for non-project vessel traffic, authorisation must be requested from the vessel master. The Vessel will be supported by CTV’s Windcat 27, 29, 21, 36, 39 and Spectrum 2 as required during its time on site at London array.
None of the Turbines are identified so it will be necessary to call-up any LA vessel prior to entry. Once pinned to a turbine, Foulger's Gat would be unlikely to be closed.
