Again apologises for an abbreviated service this week. Next monday I shall be back chez Mersea and doing this properly.
Permanent
1. Changes in the Sandiettie LV characteristics to Fl.5s12m15M Horn(1)30s
2. There are some replacement blocks for the area of the Thanet Wind Farm which I will post up on my return. can't see anything dramatic in them - think they are just a tidying exercise.
3. Unexploded ordnance 1.65nm due east of the South Knock south cardinal buoy in over 20m of water
4. Change in the shape of the special data buoy in the Haut Fond du Gravelines (off Dunkerque western entrance)
Temporary
1. Gravesend Port Control is doing a command exercise today called Exercise Cyclops. All exercise communciations are prefixed with this title and the Thames Barrier will do the normal port comms.
2. Temporary moves of the Sea Reach buoys to facilitate dredging
3. Halfpenny Pier charges are announced. These are already posted in the News section of East Coast Sailing.
4. Seasonal buoys in Harwich Harbour and environs are about to be put in place
5. Ipswich Wet Dock Lock to be closed for maintenance on 15th March 8am to 1600hrs with a possible overrun.
6. Kingsferry Bridge closed between 0100 and 0400 on Monday 19th March for maintenance.
7. Repairs to Vauxhall Railway Bridge in Great Yarmouth - beware of barges moored near ASDAs.
8. Data buoy north of the main harbour of Great Yarmouth
9. Nothing as I post from the London Array wind farm but we can assume cable laying will be getting close to the Fisherman's and foulger's Gats with continued turbine and foundation installation. I follow this up as soon as possible.
The idyll will be over by Monday so normal service from then
. Slightly more detail is being sent via Skype (e-mails ain't working
) to colin to post into the news section of www.eastcoastsailing.co.uk as soon as we can.
Once again the weather here Roger (I know you like to know) is 29 degrees with a 15knot wind from the east.
