UKHO Permanent/Temporary/Preliminary Notices:

1. ENGLAND - East Coast - Channel limit. -
The southern Secondary Yantlet Channel (in Sea Reach, River thames) has been extended west from the Cliffe Fleet PHB to the Small Craft Crossing Point south of the Lower Hope PHB. The object may well be to keep the smaller shipping clear of the London Gateway Port which would need container ships turning. Note that ‘small craft’ are still asked to keep to the south bank.

2. ENGLAND - East Coast - Depths. - Two slight reductions of depth in the Secondary Yantlet Channel, on close by the Small Craft crossing point and the other east of the Sea Reach No 6 PHB. Ample water for leisure craft.

3. FRANCE - North Coast - Wreck. - A reduction of depth over an old wreck at the west entrance of the Chenal Intermediaire between the west and east harbours of Dunkerque. Ample water for leisure craft.

Local:

1. River Medway – Gillingham/Short Reach - Gas Pipeline Survey Operations. -
‘Northern Divers’ will be conducting a hydrographic and “walk-over” survey of the River Medway between Gillingham Marina and Hoo Marina. The survey will be concentrated over the sub-sea gas pipeline running between the two locations.(See image in the Local List at: Notices to Mariners). Survey work will commence on or around 12/01/2026 and is expected to be completed by 16/01/2026. Multiple survey runs will be performed at slow speed over the low water periods using a RIB Callsign “Northern Divers Sea Rover” who will be monitoring VHF Channel 74 at all times. All work will be completed from the surface and across the mudflats at low water, NO diving will be undertaken. Please be advised that during survey operations the vessel will be restricted in it’s ability to manoeuvre and other vessels are requested to be mindful of the nature of the works, reduce their wash when passing and maintain an appropriate safe distance. Admiralty Chart : 1835 refers. Further information may be obtained from Medway VTS on VHF Channel 74, call sign “Medway VTS” or telephone 0151 949 6148 or 0151 949 6650 (Recorded Lines)

2. Dover Harbour - Latest Outer Marina Survey Chart - Please be aware of the latest Marina Survey Chart that has now been published and uploaded onto the Ports community Portal for further reference. (You can see the chartlet in the Local List on the above quoted web page - click on the image for a pdf).

That's it.
