I'm considering a Navman DSC VHF and have found that one or two online dealers are offering them out at really good price.
I'm not looking for recc'd alternatives, as I have spent couple of days trawling web pages looking at Cobra, Raymarine, Midland, you name it - I've probably seen a listing !

What my question is - I heard that Navman was no longer supported by Plastimo ? So who is now looking after the Navman range ? Is the after sales reasonable ?

So is the 7100 DSC radio worth the 85 quid that one sites hoofing it out at. Makes you think.

Did consider the Lowrance with NMEA 2000 which allows it to poll GPS data from my 3500C along with other 2000 tricks. But it's price at 135 quid put it at top end of my style of wallet opening !

Used a Navman DSC 7100 VHF radio for the last two years with no problems, linked to Northstar GPS Plotter.
Cheap yes, simple to use yes, reliability yes so far.
Northstar bought out Navman last year, Navman made the same kit for years as Northstar but with differant coloured control buttons, Northstar plotters are identical except for buttons, but cheaper.
