1. ENGLAND - East Coast - Winterton Overfalls - Depths. - 2 reduced depths near the Overfalls but this is linked into the next:
2. ENGLAND - East Coast - Winterton Overfalls to Lowestoft - Depths. Drying heights. Wrecks. Obstruction. - a Major preliminary notice including 212 reduced depths, 3 drying heights, 5 wrecks and one obstruction - not the nicest to do! - And the area has already issued 5 NtMs this year. I have needed to include 3 images and to be comprehensive I have added the reduced depths from the 5 earlier NtMs.
3. BELGIUM - Zeebrugge - NM Blocks. - a block of the east side of the harbour - image of course on the usual page: http://www.crossingthethamesestuary.com/page9.html

Local

1. Pinto Lighted Buoy - River Crouch - the Pinto Lighted Buoy has been observed to be laying low in the water in and around the high water period;
2. Mariners are courteously reminded of Rule 9 [Narrow Channels] of the International Regulations for Preventing Collisions at Sea 1972 [COLREGS]… All commercial ships navigating in the Burnham Fairway will have a Crouch Harbour Authority [CHA] licensed pilot onboard. They will be monitoring VHF Channel 11 whilst within the CHA district. Do not impede these vessels as they can only navigate safely within the Fairway due to amongst other factors constraint of draught.
A ship that is slowing down may not steer very well; it needs propeller action on the rudder to respond, it takes time and considerable distance to stop a ship particularly if it is in a loaded condition.
Ships in narrow channels cannot easily avoid small craft, it is best that you stay clear.
Be especially cautious and vigilant at night or in times of poor visibility, above all keep a good lookout both ahead and astern!
3. Port of Wells - dredging.

That's it. Updating the website is a little slow tonight. It will be ready shortly!

PS - Bl**dy Windows 10 update today has changed the keyboard - the " and @ are swapped.

On Saturday we noticed a ship heading downriver from Baltic Wharf. A small yacht left Burnham Yacht Harbour and kept heading across the fairway between the ship and escort launches.
We commented that he must be able to see the bright red ship. After 5 hoots and a blast astern, he suddenly woke up.
Probably the cause of nr 2.

Yes, I guess something like that. Years and years ago I was leaving Harwich (outside of the Channel) as a huge, huge container ship came in. It blasted its horn very long and loud and a yacht also heading out right in the central of the channel not far away suddenly had to motor out of the way very hard. Wasn't much far in it! Odd, I guess they had been business but it wasn't as though as the ship appeared out of the blue.

It sounds as though it's reverted to US keyboard layout. At the right hand end of the task bar you may see 'ENG' - if you click on this it pops up the language variants available, you want English (United Kingdom) not English (United States). Mine changes itself to German for no good reason once or twice a day.

You can remove the English (United States) keyboard layout by going Control Panel->Language, select English (United States) in the list of keyboard layouts (you may only have 2) and click Remove. That should stop it happening again. Maybe. At least this has finally prompted me to remove the German layout having suffered it switching to it at random a couple of times a day for the last few months.

In the control panel's address bar try typing: Control Panel\All Control Panel Items

You should then get a complete list of settings thus (of course you may well have the same problem of settings being hidden):

Control Panel.jpg

If you still can't get at it, and can really be bothered (I probably couldn't) then this tells you how to hide things in the control panel - I guess it might help to unhide them: https://www.windowscentral.com/how-hide-control-panel-settings-windows-10

Or... given that it doesn't happen very often and now you know what to do, just live with it.

There is no 'Language' item in the Control Panel! Your fix in the Task Bar solved: I really can't be bothered any more. Just think, if Microsoft sold cars they would have been out of business years ago!
