UKHO and Trinity House Permanent/Temporary/Preliminary Notices -
1. ENGLAND - East Coast - Wrecks. Obstructions. -
One new wreck and one new obstn between Bawdsey and Oxford Beach; the wreck off north of Bawdsey and the obstn off the Orford Beach. Both have ample water for leisure craft.
2. ENGLAND - East Coast - Wreck. - One new wreck off Bawdsey; at 4.6m, sufficient water for leisure craft but avoid anchoring! Might be that yacht that sank under tow recently. I saw TH Alert did do some surveying the day in that area after the sinking.
3. ENGLAND - East Coast - Pilot boarding places. - The Pilot Boarding Places for Wisbech and Sutton Bridge and bad weather have been moved: the standard location adjacent to the Nene Roads safe water buoy and the bad weather station further south closer to the DZ No 8 SHB.
4. ENGLAND - East Coast - Depths. Pontoon. - Three reductions of depth just west of the Woolwich Barrier – all adequate water for leisure craft – one reduction of depth on the approaches to Limehouse Basin lock down to 1.8mCD and a new pontoon in Bugby’s Reach on the east bank generally opposite North Green Pier. 5. ENGLAND - East Coast - Depths. - Two reductions of depth in the River Thames in the Long Reach, west of the QEII bridge, one very close in by the south support and the second close to the shore at Purfleet. Both unlikely to hinder leisure craft.
6. ENGLAND - East Coast - Buoy. - The Notice confirms local Sizewell Harbour notice No 4 of 2026 which announced the positioning of a yellow lit mooring buoy south of the Bird Nesting tower off Minsmere within the Harbour area.
7. SOUTH EAST COAST OF ENGLAND - GOODWIN SANDS - EAST GOODWIN LIGHTVESSEL - GOODWIN SANDS - EAST GOODWIN LIGHTED BUOY - Two Trinity House Notices announcing changes in the future. On or around 14th August, 2026, the East Goodwin Light Vessel will be permanently withdrawn and the East Goodwin Lighted Buoy will have an upgraded Racon with greater range.

1. River Thames - Barking Reach - Docklands Wharf: Dredging Operations -
between 18th February 2026 and 21st February 2026 inclusive, dredging operations will take place at Docklands Wharf. The general location of works is indicated by the red box on the chartlet. These dredging operations will be carried out by vessel MAAS or similar, using the water injection dredging method and will be conducted over a single ebb tides only. Requirements to proceed with caution or at slow speed will be made in accordance with the procedure set out in the Port of London Authority’s Port Information Guide under ‘Speed Reductions’, with the International Code Flags ‘Romeo Yankee’ displayed. Further details will be broadcast by London VTS on VHF Channel 14.
2. River Thames - Lower Hope Reach - Alpha Jetty: Diving Operations - commencing on Monday 23rd February 2026, and for a period of five days, diving operations will take place at Alpha Jetty, Cliffe as indicated by a red box on the chartlet. Workboat ‘EAGLE’ will be in attendance and will be displaying the following signals while diving is taking place:
By day, International Code Flags ‘Romeo Yankee (RY)’, ‘Alpha (A)’ and a red flag near the diver’s point of entry into the water.
By night, illuminated rigid replicas of the International Code Flags ‘Romeo Yankee (RY)’ and ‘Alpha (A)’.
Requirements to proceed with caution or at slow speed will be made in accordance with the procedure set out in the Port of London Authority’s Port Information Guide, under ‘Speed Reductions’. Further information will be broadcast by London VTS on VHF 68.
3. River Thames - Long Reach - Purfleet Deep Water Jetties: Dredging Operations - commencing on or about 15th February 2026, water injection dredging operations will be carried out at Purfleet Deep Water Jetties. The area to be dredged comprises the berth boxes off the Upper and Lower Berths. The chart extract indicates the general dredging area, bounded by the red markings. This dredging will be carried out during ebb tides only by water injection dredger MAAS (IMO 9904948; LOA 43.07m). An alternate dredging vessel may be substituted for MAAS if necessary. These dredging operations are expected to be complete no later than 21st February 2026. Mariners are advised to exercise caution and remain vigilant while navigating in the vicinity of Purfleet Deep Water Jetties during these operations. Requirements to proceed with caution or at slow speed will be made in accordance with the procedures set out in the Port of London Authority’s Port Information Guide, under “Speed Reductions” with the
International Code Flags ‘Romeo Yankee’, displayed. The display of these signals will be in addition to any lights or shapes required under local regulations and the International Regulations for Preventing Collisions at Sea (IRPCS). Further information will be broadcast, as necessary, by London VTS on VHF channel 68.
4. River Thames - Woolwich Reach - Thames Refinery: Dredging Operations - between 15th February 2026 and 20th February 2026 inclusive, dredging operations will take place at Thames Refinery (Tate and Lyle). The general location of works is indicated by the red box on the chartlet: These dredging operations will be carried out by vessel MAAS or similar, using the water injection dredging method and will be conducted over a single ebb tide only. Requirements to proceed with caution or at slow speed will be made in accordance with the procedure set out in the Port of London Authority’s Port Information Guide under ‘Speed Reductions’, with the International Code Flags ‘Romeo Yankee’ displayed. Further details will be broadcast by London VTS on VHF Channel 14.
5. Harwich Haven - Dredging Operations - Barney - from or around 13 February 2026 until 22 February 2026, the workboat Barney (IMO 9740938) will be carrying out dredging operations in Harwich Harbour and at the Port of Felixstowe. Contact Harwich VTS (VHF 71) for latest dredging traffic information.
