If you are even thinking about an open/half decked boat, then have a look at the older (pre about 2005) Lune Whammel by Character Boats. We had 10 very happy years owning one.

I agree. Ihave an early Character Boats Lune Pilot. Wonderful boats in every respect. The newer ones have gone a bit upmarket, with internal mouldings but the earlier ones were real working boats. Galvanised fittings and all.

I have sailed crabber Shrimper 19's and watched them being built; they are splendid boats. I have sailed a Memory and I would rate it better as a sailing boat. I have watched Heards being built and they are a thing of wonder; I'd have the Heard every time.
I should state that I am not remotely interested in having a plastic gaffer let alone a real one!
