Keep the huntress and buy the fantome, then you'll have something to play with when the weather is nice and you can go out and something to play with for the other 11 months of the year!

The Fantome in question is called enuff in Italian and its a reference to a conversation between the bank manager and the original owner, but sadly I dont have enuff cash to own both :-(

So, I'm going on holiday next week to think it over, sun, sand, s*x and another Pina Colada please barman.........

Good idea to buy when in a good mood, not bored mood. Your decisions are better, I should know, I bought a nrew motor for my boat while I was waiting to have the old one fixed. Just seemed like a good idea at the time - and I must say I'm happy with it.

...have the holiday first

At the end of the game, the King and the Pawn go back in the same box.

Don\'t do that to me!

Since I joined the forum, had a hard life in understanding many of the english expressions used...
...and I was beginning to think that I could live with that.

Now, with the "enuff in italian" I give up.
I'm not able to match english with my language anymore.

By "enuff" do you mean "enough"?
And if yes, is that "Abbastanza" in Italian?

Why not?

MapisM,

Yep, you got it absolutely right.

BTW, there are many TLA's used on here and I have worked out what most of them mean, but there is one used all the time and it beats me, but I am too scared to ask anyone. Had thought of doin it by PM, but most of the swines on here would broadcast it if I tried to find out on the QT....

He's to busy boat hunting Colin. Trouble is, everytime he finds some thing he likes. We tell him it's crap. Mind you . Finding one with two dog kennels and a paddock can not be easy.
I know what you mean about not speaking. I think it's this new found Life experience project thats getting to him, and a wish to distance himself from the likes of us. Think he's trying to find friends with the raggy lot.

But Haydn, I'm a half way house, a ragpotter! He has to stay friends with me, or who's going to tell him what all the bits of string are for and be able to control the tripe hounds at the same time? An who's going to explain about where to put the astro turf and the palm tree for the hounds aswell? Eh! He's even started talking about helm positions, rather than steering wheels!!! Catamarans indeed!! Humph!

Hmm. Take your point about the astro turf, thats a good idea. I was thinking of seeding it. The palm tree is a novel touch. I was thinking that the dogs would have been more at home with oak. Mind you that means sweeping the leaves off the lawn in the winter. No wonder he's not speaking, with all the planning he has to do!!

Re: Pets at Sea!

Nother thing I was wondering about Colin. Whats the best choice of pets, to take to sea. Tomo seem to have his hands full. With two tripe hounds and the associated need for a large garden with trees. Now I've got a choice between one donkey and about twenty coi carp. The donkey does not really seem suitable because there is also a requirement for large quantities of grass. However there is no need for trees, so must be a definate improvement on dogs. Also the donkey isnt house trained, so the bonus is, that it does not need long walks, a definate necesity when crossing Biscay! It would however seem at first glance, that the fish would make ideal water bourn pets. However there memory span is apparently only a few seconds. So training them to negotiate the marina entrance, could have it's draw backs. Could I have your comments please.

Re: Pets at Sea!

Now then, donkeys, don't know too much about them, apart from Blackpool beach that is and of course there was one in Greece, which will remain nameless! Thankyou! Now Koi carp, now we're talking! Mind you they would have to be fast Koi, to keep up with your boat, you could get them on steroids, maybe contact the chinese womens swimming team, they could also give them some swimming tips! Don't worry too much about the short term memory, now where was I? oh! yes! I've known a few crew like that. Mind you now I come to think of it, donkeys may be a better bet, transport would never be a problem when you dock, they can swim so you wouldn't need a dinghy and you could festoon the boat with window boxes to give Tutts something to do growing green stuff for them, when you're down the pub on the donkey, you can alwasy find plenty of fodder at the roadside! But my vote goes to the carp, after all no food or shit problems!!

Re: Pets at Sea!

Oooh now this is sneaky!....I'm put out to pasture (courtesy of BT) for 1 day and someone lets the cat, dog, donkey and coi carp out the bag - got no time for this!....off to see a man called Noah about a second hand wooden boat he's been trying to sell for rather a long time......

Re: You cheated!!

See, it's my knowledge of english which bothers me most, because it's not by chance that I'm located in Italy; I'm actually Italian.
...but don't mention it to anyone else. I'm sure that the average spelling, which Haydn defines as "uterly apauling", could get even worse, just to make life harder to us foreigners... :))

But hey, if we wouldn't be here, how could IPC claim that YBW is the EUROPE's n° 1 marine website ?!?

Hmmm... one of these days I'll possibly start a new thread on this one... How does "the foreigner's revenge" sound as a subject ?!...
