I have two air vents in my aft cabin that have a circle of wood trim covering the edges - the inner part is a push fit into the vent and an outer flange covers the vent tube and the gap where the vent comes through the headlining.

I want to glue these into position as they are getting a little loose but as I need to be able to remove these bits of trim to take down the headlining I don't want something too strong - just something that will reliably hold up small bits of wood weighing a few ounces, that won't damage the plastic of the vent but that can allow the trim to be easily removed without damage.

Any thoughts?

Silicone might work - they are basically a push fit into the vent so anything like Velcro or blu-tack basically won't have the space and the flange is only about 10 mil outside the vent so unless I cut a circle of Velcro maybe 5 mil inside the outside edge of the flange it wouldn't fit there either without being visible.

Got friendly GRP shop locally? Get some vacuum bagging tacky tape. Wonderful for sticking and sealing many things. Like blueTac on steroids.
