Having now joined the ranks of the Boatless, the destination for this years summer hols needed sorting out (no cruise across to Belgium - sob...)

A quick e-mail to friends, and problem solved. We fly out to Berlin on June 6th, to catch a train to the North German Coast where we ship out aboard "Hexotic" (Arcona DS40) for a cruise around the Western Baltic.

Rugen, Poland, Southern Sweden, and up to Copenhagen to catch the Sleazyjet flight back to Stansted.

Still, we'd rather have the East Coast mud....really... /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Excellent choice of retro monniker John.
Now where is the old avatar?

Pleased to see you have saved enough for a holiday, and become full time ride cadger. Excellent.

Sounds good. I should be up there about then so I'll look out for you. Give yourself time to see Stralsund/ Greifswald, Hiddensee; chill out on Ruden, Swinouwwishywashy and Bornholm (east). If you're in Ystad don't miss the chandler's (there's also a brew-pub). If you get there, the dunes at Leba are brilliant, but look out for the firing ranges on the way.

I think Roger's treatment was effective, and he is now (almost) indistinguishable from an ordinary member of the senior citizens republic.

Therefore I think he would not see himself as one of us, meaning accountants or even ex-accountants. So he may want to send you all off to a separate forum.

Yup, have applied to join the OPYC.

I may be back on here to scrounge a bit of sailing in July...

John,

the exact itinerary depends on where we join the boat - our friends are having some major surgery done on their boat whilst it is overwintering in Bergstaaken (self-tacking gear fitted). If the normal Teutonic efficiency applies, then they should be launching late-May and heading East.

Swinowshi-thingie is on the plan, as is Ystad.

Unless the Weather Gods think different, of course...

Hmmm..

Where we can all click away on our abacuses (abacii?) to our hearts' content....?

So what's the correct collective noun for a group of accountants?

An accrual?...A fiddle?...

I have you know James that I'm still young enough to be classed as self-unemployed.

Collective noun - how about a 'curse' /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif

Now all you nice accountants run along - boy it is was nice working on the boat in the sunshine today /forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif /forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif
