Having recently moved house I was under orders to clear out the old mags, the boat mags that is, not the porn.

Some of the old PBO's and Yachting Monthly mags go back to the mid to late 80's. As I browsed through them, pulling out interesting pitotage articles, several headlines caught my eye, they include: 'RYA fears on light duties and compulsory registration', 'Red diesel duty threat', and 'Should there be legislation to curb high speed power boats in our crowded waters?' So whats new?

The differences between the old mags and those of today are: the old mags had a lot more advertisments, brokerage listings had a lot more smaller boats, sub 30ft, a hand held GPS was the size of a shoe box and Dick Durham looks about 14!

Oh! If anyone wants to know how to carry out repairs to a Phillips Decca aerial, I might just be able to help with the 'how to guide'!
