Too busy when we're not sailing - after all we have over a dozen good pubs, four indian restaurants and takeaways, two chinese takeaways - one of which is also a restaurant, a great new tapas bar in the high street, a THai restaurant, a burger bar, four sailing clubs and even our own cinema. oh and four churches plus a Jehova's Witness venue whatever its called. (A friend of mine used to call himself a Jehova's Bystander. He said his religious beliefs were the same but he didn't want to get involved...)

Maybe not as pretty a river as the blackwater, the deben or the orwell, but in really bad weather at least we've got something else to do!

Essex doesn't do pretty!

The only pretty rivers around here are the Deben and the Orwell!

Upper reaches of the Colne perhaps, Wivenhoe and Rowhedge, pubs,restaurants sailing clubs, yacht clubs and a good chance of seeing beautiful historic vessels under sail...

I think Essex can hold it's own at pretty !
