What is the expected lifespan of a flexible water tank ??
Having got water system running last weekend I thought i top up the tank this morning , having done so I then went to turn off the tap , got back to the boat and found most of the contents of said tank flowing nicely over the floor and into the bilges ( they did need a clean) , the chuffin tank has split
After I cleaned up and removed the tank to mop up in the locker I found a date stamp of may 97 , to be honest I'm now glad I took it out as it gave me a opportunity to remove the bladder part - yuk , and I was asking about filling it with a garden hose !!!!!!!

When I changed Karouise's water tank I found the previous tank to be disgusting. That is why I only drink boiled boat water now!

So that was another job you did instead of tackling that headlining

The bladder has probably sat empty too long and perished. It's only money and all will be justified once you're afloat.

Inside of boat is still very much work in progress - well I have done the strip out bit anyway!

I did have a look at that headlining but I know it's gonna be a pain
Did start the engine though which pleased me a bit , only a bit as the little button in middle of gear/throttle lever has stuck in so another job on the list

As a follow on from the first post I did a search on here regarding flexi tanks and the concenous was they are ok providing they are not overfilled , maybe this is what happend today but as there is no gauge its a bit awkward to judge when it's full , lifting bunk cushions and boards every time I want to fill up will become bit of a chore .
