About eight in the evening we heard a small outboard and I assumed it was a neighbour fishing fanatic but if I had thought about it I'd have realised the tone of the engine was higher.

It was going fast enough to tip wine glasses from tables, and cause folks to climb on deck.

Anyway, that evening someone attempted to remove a 9.9hp Mercury OB off a dinghy and caused only some cosmetic damage fortunately.

Nobody actually caught sight of the scrotes but coincidently word on the street is the following: That a toothless chap by the name of Pete has a Dell Quay Dory called Hunky Dory and/or an inflatable he keeps in a white van and is stealing to order outboards between 4 and 15hp and small dinghys. He lives in Sunbury but is boasting that he lives sometimes in Penton Marina. If anyone can shed further light on this, it'll be appreciated.

Email or PM me and I'll forward the info.

I'm sick to the hind teeth of my neighbours loosing stuff off their moorings and out of their sheds.

Thank you

I can't shed any more light on it I'm afraid but I did witness said scrote hurtling up the Staines reach, so he must have come through Penton lock.

Came very close to my mooring, small open boat, no more than 15', engine was labouring a bit so probably no more than 20 horses, doing about 12-15 knots at a guess.

The person you are referring to name is Peter Brown, lives on a Princess 30 usualy found at Lindsays Lawn Sheperton, I think he gets blamed for a lot more than he does. I moor at Platts Eyot at lower Sunbury where some time ago boats lost diesel out of their tanks, Peter was blamed however his boat runs two Volvo petrols, I would favour the "river gypsies based at Lower Hampton and in the vicinitywho seem to have every mod con and do little to earn anything. I however do not know anything about the above instance. I hope they find the guilty party.
