Following on from the previous thread HERE! I thought I'd finish the story of our trip.
We were there on business, but boating seemed to be taking up most of the time(which was fine by me/forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif).
We arrived at the Factory by boat, no pier or pontoon to get off, the skipper just nudges the bow of the boat agains't the rocks, where a representative from the factory was waiting to greet us.
Our supplier http://www.hjellegjerde.no/ make a modern range of Chairs and suites, we spent half the day there, where we had a seminar and then had a tour of the factory, before a very fancy lunch, then look at new products and the boat back!
The company have reduced their work force from over 170 staff to just 55, with an increase of productivity after the introduction of some new very expensive Robots.
Seen here passing a stool base from one robot to another!!
Here are some of their products.
They even built a viking ship once for the ski slopes!! /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif
The boat returning to pick us up, the view from the factory and showroom.
Back on the boat it was time to relax and enjoy the spectacular scenery on the run back.
It was then back into the hotel for a quick change then back out on another boat for a few hours fishing!! (Its a hard life, but someone has to do it!! /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif)
Our boat, an old wooden fishing ketch i think.
Getting on proved quite difficult!!
My brother flying through the air!!
(He couldn't do that this week, he just had a vasectomy yesterday!!! /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif )
My brother handing out the beer before we even left the quayside!
Now this was close!!! /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif
I heard so much of the great fishing out there, told that the cod is huge!! They had arranged for everything we caught to be cooked at a local restuarant for dinner that night.
So then it was time to start fishing!!
And Fish!
And Fish!
And Fish!
And Fish!
And Fish!
And finally time to return back to port!
This time the skipper put the bow to the pier for us to get of, not so much of a nudge but a bloddy great clout!! What a crack it made. Here the boat hand can been seen inspecting the damage! /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif
Off the boat and straight into a bar, and then another bar, then of to the resturant, where i must report the Cod was delicious!! /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif
Got back to the hotel at 3am, completely knackered, up in the morning, pack and ready for return journey home. 3 Flights and 13hrs later I was home!
The trip was fantastic, I really do hope i get back there sometime, Next time it has to be with Kirsty and Callum, they can enjoy the town and scenery while i do the business part.
If you get the chance, go!! The boating there is wonderful.
I still have more scenic pictures, but i think I've posted far to many as it is.
Hope you enjoyed the pics and didn't get too bored.
Cheers
Al.
