We got an invitation to Northshore's Owners' Open Day next month. "A chance to see the new Southerly 57 under construction and to meet suppliers to discuss any future upgrades." A bit of lunch and a jazz band as well. I was rather shocked to see that they required £15 from each person attending. How many forumites would pay to attend?

Been going for years I seem to remember that it has gradually increased in price as have most things over the years but its an opportunity to meet up with old aquaintances and Northshores staff etc. Both the Vancouver and Southerly owners associations have their annual dinners in the evening so all in all not a bad day out and in the grand scheme of things its not going to break the bank.

Yes, we went once and thoroughly enjoyed it. Interesting to see a boatbuilder at work, and a decent meal as well. One thing they did was to sell off decent sized bags of the mixed stainless fixings swept up of the floor for (I think) £5 - as well as surplus fitting etc.

Wouldnt go every year but once was worthwhile.
