Northern Boat Jumble

From the department of very long shots:

and there's a decent bottle of Scothc or what have you in it if I get her back. Actually a couple of entries newer on the list is another tender that went on the same night, from the same place and I suspect the owner of same would also stand a decent bottle.

Re: Northern Boat Jumble

Can't make it this year as I am told my birthday celebrations will start tomorrow - even though I should be stood by the phone waiting to hear about all those happy retailers selling PS3's.

I have been tasked to collect a 3 piece suite from Wigan tomorrow and deliver it safely to my nephew's house in Wandsworth, where I will apparently be feted and fed all weekend, with some sort of surprise on Saturday.

I then have to drive back Sunday afternoon to make sure the van gets picked up by the rental company first thing Monday.

I am still trying to work out exactly when the con started, but I did walk into it with my eyes wide shut.

I must be getting old now that the ankle biters are running rings around me.

Yup - I'll be there. Fortunately, it's only 25-30 mins away from me. I haven't seen the weather forecast yet but it's never the same unless it's raining, muddy and impossible to get out of the car park (field).

I usually get my anti-fouling there at a good price. I also need some pieces of perspex and there's normally a chap there selling lots of off-cuts.

Maybe, I'll see you there. I'll be wearing my YBW forum badge - a Smiley wearing a toga! (- blue denim toga for the PBO forum, bikini toga for the YM forum and arguing/laughing Smileys for the Lounge!) /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif /forums/images/graemlins/mad.gif /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif

Pity there's no bar there!! /forums/images/graemlins/smirk.gif /forums/images/graemlins/smirk.gif

It started with, "Uncle Catastrophe, would you like to come down to London and celebrate your birthday in the comfort of our home, surrounded by your loving family, feted and waited on hand and foot?"

"Yes, okay."

"Good. And whilst you are at it, can we have a hire van delivered to you so that you can drive it to Wigan on Friday (My birthday) and pick up the leather 3 piece suite we have ordered and bring it to London?"

"Er."

"Good, that's settled then."

Definitely lumberitis then! /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif You'll recognise their abode...it'll be the one with a large banner proclaiming "Gotcha!" /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

Well, it's better than being ignored.

I get off lightly. We have a family e-group and they refer to their Mother as "The dribbly one".

Re: Northern Boat Jumble

I trust you all had a good time at the Northern Boat Jumble.

I passed the site on my way back from London, but other than two vans still being packed up and the loos standing as stiff as sentries, it was all over.

However, my birthday weekend was not a total loss. On Saturday I was taken to Southwark to Clink Street - no, not to lock me up - but given a fistfull of tickets and let loose in Vinopolis for the afternoon.

Didn't even know the place existed, but it surely must be paradise on Earth for all us drinking people. Tour was meant to last two and a half hours, but with extra tasting tickets we were int here for nearly five hours.
