Seeing as the two PMs I've sent out have so far failed to give me an answer, can anybody say with reasonable certainty which will be the better day to go down to The Straits and get out on the water this weekend? I've checked four different wind / weather sites & (surprise, surprise) got four different answers. HELP PLEASE!!!

CHECK YOUR PM'S:p
However.
Rain between showers
Foggy underfoot
Wind all over the place
Tides coming in and out
Sunday follows Saturday
The best day is Monday!

Right now its dark
Quiet though

Just get yer backside down to the Straits:rolleyes:
Your boat is straining at the mooring lines.

Won't matter what the forecast is.
Cos it will all change by the time yer gets here.
Won't matter much Sat or Sun
It will be safe.
Cos 'The Major' aint launching till next weekend it seems:D:D

HELP PLEASE!!!

Sat. (Asuming you're already in the strait - PD now, aren't you?)

Windguru for Angelsey has generally served me well (forecasts at bottom of page tend to be more accurate, but overestimate wind speed). Looks like Sun will get a bit draughty from the wrong direction for you.

Go with Rich if he says differently.

Yeh I like the Guru too.
But my guru says its backing southerly for Sun?
5to7 on both days.

Checked out Rhosneigr and Anglesey.

'Red Dwarf bay' too!
Women looking for Red Wharf bay
last week asked me for directions to Red Dwarf bay!!

Told her second on the left after the garage then nip into the shop and ask Rimmer for the rest of the way.

'OK' she said and drove off!!!
Couldn't believe it!

Looks like 4 ish Sat, W or WSW, so I would assume Strait would be pretty sheltered & flat - especially PD to Nelson. Backing SW later Sat & picking up to 5 ish, or a bit more - I would guess blowing up yer chuff (against tide) and getting a bit choppy for you cabin cruiser types ;), but I'm only going by what I've seen N of the bridges. Once it's gone around to S, I'd guess you were OK again, but looking much stronger (5-6??) and WET!. All depends how quickly it all happens, I suppose.

You've seen it a lot more than me :D

Not planning to go out this W/E, so it'll probably be F3 & sunny.

Yeh, thats one thing for little mobos in the Straits
Always somewhere to go and play.
Gonna drag Lawsey out by the Scruff, whatever day.

Reckon He needs to do the Swellies solo now!!

Well, Saturday was windy but fine & much lighter winds overnight, windstrength picking up again on Sunday. But it's easy to predict the waether afterwards innit? Did you go anywhere?

Didn't make it make it down to Wales in the end. My health problems reared their ugly head early on Saturday morning - thus I was in no position to drive down, far less risk taking the boat out. Just had a PM from a forumite (who shall remain anonymous) to confirm what you say that the weather wasn't too bad down on the Strait so it sounds we missed out. Drat!!!
