So, what did everyone think?

We thought it was pretty good considering it's still in its infancy. Quite a few stands selling boats of different shapes and sizes from Sunseeker and Fairline to RIBs and kayaks.

There were a number of activities, visitors could take a trip on the lake on various craft and could even have an introduction to SCUBA diving.

There were bargains to be had and Richard Shead was even giving away magazines, thanks Richard!

The show seemed to be well attended and the weather managed to be reasonably kind.

RNLI were on hand and giving their usual words of wisdom, we learnt a bit more about checking life-jackets.

We would have liked to have seen a bit more chandlery, 'boaty bits' and perhaps clothing, but hopefully there will be more stands each year as the show developes.

We attended the boat jumble at Bodelwyddan Castle today, which was okay but not as big as we thought it might be. if this could be combined with the North Wales Boat Show, attendance might well be improved for both events, and they'd only need one venue! Just a thought.

Just missed you at the Boat Jumble - I think you said hello to my son just as you arrived (?? 12-ish?) but he didn't know who you were :D I was elsewhere, but saw the backs of your heads disappearing over the brow of the hill when I emerged :o.

There was more at the boat jumble than last year, but I agree it's silly to have it on the same weekend, but miles away from the show

Andy

I seen Ya!
But I was busy selling stuff
Philiz bought 9 miles of rope fer 9 quid , whilst I was negotiatin a 'Big Deal'!

Anyway
Another happy 'customer';) went away with a 'rare'
Seagull outboard.:D

Hi Kwacka - great to meet you at last

It wasnt so much a boat jumble stand - more like that "Real Hustle" programme off the telly with three seasoned pro's working over the unsuspecting crowd with a combination of guile, patter and skullduggery.

I never wanted a tiller-pilot anyway......or that length of special left-handed rope.....and when I got home and emptied the car, I couldnt find that long-stand anywhere.

Wasn't us who spoke to your son, but we did see you in the distance at one stage. :)

Likewise:)

No-- you didn't listen
It's a left handed tiller pilot
Used extensively locally for circumcisin Anglesey clockwise.

Don't switch on after the Fairway at Porthmadoc
You'l end up in Barmouth!

The rope-- Oh peeps just don't listen!
Is a 'Smillen Line';)

The long stand?
I reckon the Bin Man nicked it:D

I didn't see you - which is worrying!

Acshully I would have come over to say hello if I'd seen you...

....despite my better judgement :p

Andy

Well judged in the end I reckon
We only had one or two items left

A knackered life raft
An a book on Marina Handling
You don't know how lucky you were!:)

Dam it, I should have got rid of MF's big blue rope, a couple of black ones, two spare props, a spare radio that dont work.

The blue or even the black ropes would be just about perfect for the Prince Madog.

Big blue ropes were in heavy demand
Spare props were slow
Knackered vhf's were makin 'top money'
'It's knackered Mate
So K, I,ll fix it'

First time I,ve done a Jumble of any kind
Wierd.

No it aint, I've been in your garage :)

Definitely a bit wierd though, a lot of junk, some good stuff at reasonable prices, but a lot of stuff overpriced. One guy was selling a Garmin fishfinder the same as mine, I paid less at Dickies than he was asking!

There were life-jackets on sale, some newish, some old, dunno if many sold. There were also air rifles on sale, didn't think that was allowed nowadays?

Somebody who'll remain nameless had wooden oars on his stall, £20 each, buy one get one free! :)

Air rifles, under a specified legal power require no form of permit, but can't be sold to under 18's.

My local car boot had a s/h wet suit for £40. Aldi still have them in stock at £30 brand new. One needs to be aware of new prices when buying junk.

Phil, Not many endorcements for the boat show on your "North Wales Boat Show - The verdict" thread.

The boat jumble seems to be popular though. ;)
