Over this weekend noticed a number of "witheys" on the noth side of Osea Island.

Could not make out if nets were strung out, but avoided them just in case.
Also a few "witheys" on Osea cauceway, not sure who put them out.

Any info?.

A few withies appeared early last year at the nor-eastern end of Osea. Four near the causeway this year. I know that layings have been re established in the creek/creeks further up, which is good news, so I can only guess at the moment that these could be marking them. These layings are not on any charts either. I was concerned (would'nt like to drop old cold nose on a wee oyster) as I anchor all over the place up there so we (GSC) have contacted the oyster fishery who are still yet to get back to us. Soon as we know more I'll update you.

In case you guys didn't know about the rubble on the causeway....there's a recent update here here - scroll down the News on that page and look for 'Stumble'.

Went to have a look at the Stumble today. Several withies along it. The border to the causeway now looks much better than after the rubble dumping last year, looks like no more than .2-.3m above the roadway, and I didn't notice any nasty bits of rebar poking out.

There are the older timber posts sticking up a bit higher, but these are closer to the mainland and away from the normal crossing area [that seems to be between the last two withies before the island]
