North Sea Jazz Festival, Rottterdam

I'm thinking of trying to visit the North Sea Jazz Festival in Rotterdam in July. Anyone have any experience of visiting by boat, good places to moor etc.?

One thought is to stay out of Rottterdam on a bus or train route, although we would need to be able to get back late at night.

Suggestions welcome.

We stopped in the small Veerhaven near the Erasmusbrug years ago. Quite a bit of wash from passing vessels.
Have you thought of Dordrecht. Fast ferry from there to Rotterdam.

There is a marina right in the middle of Amsterdam. Stopped there a few years ago. Through the Erasmusbrug. All facilities. http://www.rotterdammarina.com/

Just discovered that all the tickets are sold out. Should have started planning earlier! Ah well, maybe next year.
