Just planning a passsage up the East Coast from Humber later this week. Single handing I will probably need to stop overnight near Flamborough. The tides are wrong for getting into Brid and Filey is a bit far. Has anyone anchored in North Landing and if so can you give lat and long - cannot find N Landing on my charts

Looking at the predicted weather for the back end of this week, the wind looks like it will be from the west somewhere. Why not just drop the hook in Bridlington bay? Somewhere off the north beach has good holding (Sand). A couple of things to watch out for.

The £5. a go speed boats that wizz around creating wash - but they usually stop about 7pm. And also its Brid Regatta week this week so there will be quite a few racing boats kicking about, Altough if you can't get into the harbour then I guess they won't be able to get out.

I don't know of anyone who has anchored at north landing, which doesn't mean you cant, just depends how much swell there is running from the north I guess.
 
Tend to agree with Lakesailor.

Not an anchorage I would fancy - not only scary as a lee shore but also suspect bottom will be very much rock (not looked a chart so may be wrong)

Perhaps leave Humber a bit earlier and go to Filey, anchor under Brigg or as LS says anchor in Brid Bay.

Brid was apparently preferred anchorage for sailing boats in years gone by - good shelter behind Smithic shoal.
 
North landing is rock and weed.....

Not a hugh amount of room at low water for swinging on the tide or if the wind changes..

Don't think the fishermen would be that happy with a 25 foot yacht anchored in there overnight.

Thornwick bay a bit further north might be better...but then filey is not that much further and much better.....
