Hi, I am thinking of moving my boat (An Etap 22i) to somewhere new. Does anyone have any contact with the NDYC at Instow? I would like to know if they have any vacancies for membership and any moorings. I will be in the area this weekend so may pop in anyway.

I'm a member of NDYC. The club doesn't have control over the moorings. It's a sort of free for all arrangement for most of us. There is a local marine business that will put a mooring down for a fee and in some parts there is a cost (payable to the local land owner who owns some of the foreshore) Sunday lunch is probably the best time to visit as the bar is open at lunchtime.
Best wishes
Paul

whether you use bolts or self tappers a tip for the future when drilling large holes in grp with drill bits is....
drill a pilot hole first and use a countersink to remove the gell around the hole before you drill bigger! if you use self tappers in grp the same applies countersink to clear the gell away slightly bigger than the shank size!!
easy when you know how

Thank-you all for your replies. I will try to look in at the club next weekend.
I will also do as I'm told when drilling grp or using self tappers!
Cheers,
Allan

Hi all,
I know this was a long while back now but what is the situation with moorings through instow/appledore/bideford? Is it a case of you can lay moorings your self and no cost or have the '' unwritten rules'' changed now? If any one has any information please get back to me
