North and West Atlantic Spain???

Def. spend a lot of time between A Coruna and Vigo. It can be cheap, we only visited a marina once every 14 days or so and shopping/shore trips tend to be pretty easy. Some marinas are expensive but most aren't so not a problem when you do use one.

Following note for Ria de Muros might be of some use:

Muros
I’ve heard that Muros marina have reduced their prices this year but can’t confirm if it is true. We usually anchor on opp. side of the bay and holding seems better than next to marina. However, it’s a bit of a hike in the dinghy. Marina’s wifi is very poor and they keep telling me that they will get a new outside antenna. All they need to do is move the existing one across the room to the window. I can actually get better reception on opposite side of the bay than in the marina.

There are usually 2 open APs in the area but I doubt you’ll pick them up without a booster.

Esteiro
Good shelter here if wind strong from N to E. Don’t bother with anchorage opp. Muros if it’s going to be windy from NE, just stay here.
I avoid going right over the shallow patch in middle of the bay (0.7m) so don’t know if it really exists. Holding seems better in W bay than in E one.

Getting ashore: Take dinghy towards the entrance to the river at W side of the bay. The beach shelves very steeply just before the bridge and you never need to lift the dinghy up or down much to to/from the water. There’s a cheap bar next to the beach and they serve decent tapas. We usually went ashore to shop and returned in time for them to open and have tapas ready (12:30 I think). Follow road behind the bar to main road and turn left for supermarket (& open market further along). All pretty close to the beach.

WIfi from bar but I’ve forgotten the code.

Punta Caveiro
Good shelter if wind is from S. Portosin marina is at opp. side of the bay (chopped off to PORTO on chartlet). Nothing much here so I’ve never gone ashore. However, it is quite nice and free. Nothing much at Portosin marina either but it is expensive (Muros is cheaper if you do need a marina).

You might pick up WiFi from Portosin marina (I can pm a guess at the current code).

I spent a while last summer and then ended up leaving my boat in Viveiro on the north coast of Galicia last winter. http://www.northwestmarinas.com/en/marinaviveiro/marina-viveiro.htm

€80 amonth for a 26ft boat, including cradle and electricity. Good service and very friendly staff

Viveiro is a bit difficult to reach: flights to La Corunna, very well integrated bus to El Ferrol, then the onto the narrow guage FEVE http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/FEVE to Viveiro. Or you order a car from the marina to pick you up.

Very pretty little town: excellent and cheap food and drink. Very Galician and Spanish, they do not even speak English in the Tourist Office (But Fernando in the marina office does)

Some really great info here. Many thanks for all the responses.
Bloody mizzen mast BROKE big time recently though, so gonna have to be all the stops out to find another to get fitted before next year. And NOT on insurance:-(((
