Hiya new to the forum
Have a norman that is shot needs a full re fit am concidering fitting a prop drive or stern drive can sumone point me in the right direction for used parts
Should be fitted with a outbord but tbh i hate 2strokes and there bad at battery charging and cant heat water

You can also get small 4 strokes, but tend to be heavier. My first engine was a Tohatsu 5hp single cylinder

I currently have a 23ft Viking, using a 9.9hp mariner 4 stroke on canals. I can get it up to 8 knots (speed verified by an app on iPhone) on a short burst, as 4 knots is the limit - on the River Lea.

It is much quiter than the 20hp mariner 2 stroke that came with the boat, but much heavier.

Makes sense to me :).

We don't live aboard use it mote like a touring caravan. so we have a gas water heater and a small cartridge gas heater for our needs.

I just wanted to help with info on small outboards to aid the right decissions, i think some divert the cooling water through a heat exchanger, but i'm no expert on this.

Come back when sorted to tell us how you got on, being nosey is an essential part of being helpfull lol!
