Chap a few boats down on the pontoon been fiddling with outboard for a couple of days. Little 16' fast fisher. Had comprehensive engine service about 3 months ago, said about 20 hours since.

Gradually developed engine problems, as he described engine surging and developed into general loss of power.

Discussions with the Company that did the service resulted in a new set of plugs. Reported recent problems with plugs breaking down after few hours use.

Anyone out there had similar problems? Wonder if the market has been hacked by knock offs.

There are well-known problems with counterfeit spark plugs. There's plenty on the web about how to distinguish between real and fake, although that's only after you've bought them, of course.

To be fair to Richard you asked if the ‘market had been hacked by knockoffs’ and he replied saying yes, it’s well documented. It wasn’t arrogant to say that, neither was his following comment. You did indeed ask a question and he answered it!
