Resumed next week :D

I'm currently in Ayia Napa enjoying 35 degrees, hope it's nice in the UK...

Going to rent a 350hp Regal later in the week, 56 knot wake shots to follow!

Any truth in the rumour that expatriates returning from extended stays overseas are required by the new Canal Trust to undergo quarantine, and then a compulsory week's basic training in Harmonious Living with Narrow Boats ? :eek:
 
Fight!

I stayed in a nice hotel in Cyprus two years ago for a family wedding. We went for an evening trip to Aya Napa and the taxi driver warned us to be careful of 'drinken english soldiers' We did encounter same and my nephew saved my life by sorting out the mate of the person who thought I had looked at him the wrong way. Or something.

Could this be 'good bye no regrets'? 'No regrets m.i.a.' etc.

I did my time there, the ex Mother In Law lived there (just outside ok the other side of the base, nice fish and chips though..) some parts are stunning as for Napa....well each to their own...
 
So far so good!

Had feet nibbled by fish, spent a day on a pirate ship jumping 20 feet off the rigging into the blue blue sea, went clubbin' into the wee hours, looked at totty everywhere, drunk loads, rented a buggy and practised drifting on the roundabouts at each end of the strip, local lads liked that...oh, and my usual band practise has been temporarily replaced with Karaoke!

Napa is huge, parts have obviously suffered in the euro economy, but the place is pleasantly busy and is lovely in the daylight, while night time changes it quite a lot and it gets very noisy!

We figured it's better to join in...

Not like Ye olden days then ?

Is there still a road block near one of the military bases consisting of a spiked chain lying in groove in the road on either side of which was a sand bagged gun emplacement.
Things seem to have got a bit quieter since ?
