I would like to take my Seawych (19ft, Bilge keels, on a road trailer) to the Norfolk Broads this autumn.

Can anybody recommend a suitable launching site, preferably in the northern broads.

I have looked at www.boatlaunch.co.uk, and reviewed my 'where to launch' book, but neither is as good as personal experience & recommendation.

What do you recommend?

I launch my 17ft Seahawk Bilge keels, on a road trailer from moor a co wroxham a few weeks ago. I had to push it down the slipway and had great fun recovering it to large rocks and mud one side. I would not recomend it.

Hi,

I agree with the RICHARDSONS at Stalham its a gentle slip with as far as i'm aware no drop off.
I launched my 25' sports cruiser there off a road trailer with no problems.

It cost me £7 to use it.

The Swan, Horning

We launched a motor cruiser there about 15-20 years ago.

Slip was shallow and had a step off the end. We recovered at low water which was only a matter of inches less than when we launched.

We reversed so the wheels were just on the edge of the step, and wiched her up onto the roller coaster. You would not be able to float onto a trailer from memory.

Colin Buttifant at Ludham have a very nice slipway at about £1 per foot
Martham Boatbuilding Co is also very good, cannot remember the fees
There is also one at Potter heigham at the Phornix fleet, but it is a bit dodgy
