Just walked along Grain foreshore - the Nore Swatch has been relaid after an absence of 10 months and the markers where the Brit-Ned cable was laid have been removed. No more guard boat to evade on the way into and out of the Medway.

Certainly did take a long time.
As they apparently covered the cable with rock, it will be handy to hear reports from anyone slinking over Grain Spit at LW (pushing their luck, as I tend to do) as to whether or not it's all been buried properly..........

Nore Swatch

We cut across at or just after LW on passage to StKat's in August last year. No sign of Guard Boat then. I must admit there was some scratching of heads on board not to find the Swatch By in position. No doubt this had been published as a notice to mariners. The foreshore looked disturbed in this area but no doubt will settle over time. Didn't see any evidence of rocks!

I walk along there several times a week (I live in Grain) and never saw any sign of them using rocks, in fact there didnt seem to be anything happenning for the last few months. They did, however, have a 24 hr watchman stationed in a portacabin on the shore! withdrawn this week also. Must have been the most boring job ever invented. I thought Mud-guards were things on bikes!
