NONE SLIP DECK COVER

Can anyone help, Iv just brought a 20 sail boat that has none slip deck covering.
But its in poor condition and I want to remove the stuff.
Any idears

we need more info:
Is a paint with sand in it?
moulded plastic or cork sheathing?
canvas etc?
Usually these coverings are on a substrate like plywood or planking.

You information is too inadequate to even consider giving any meaningful advice, except - "Don't do anything till you've thought it through.."

Sorry should have given more details.

They seem to have a cork base with a rubber covering, one or two came off using a paint scraper, but the rest are well and truely stuck on.
