The Primor 24 MoBo I have ... the cockpit sole is divided into 4 sections.

Here you see part of the fwd half that is vinyl covered :

Question is - what to do with the rear varnished ply sections ?

Thoughts of remove the fwd vinyl and cover each section in matching bathroom non-slip vinyl ?? Or use industrial office carpet

You can

- buy self-adhesive non-slip strips to put on the varnish (probably easiest/quickest solution) - the strips don't need to cover the whole, but can be placed a few inches apart; or

- varnish them with anti-slip particles (fine grit) in the varnish. At least one of the main boat paint manufacturers (International?) sell such grit to add to their deck paint; or

- you can paint them with anti-slip deck paint (some manufacturers (Hempel?) sell it with the grit already in, others (International) sell the grit to be added yourself.

My boat has a plastic grating over the GRP cockpit sole. Dunno what its called but it seems fairly robust since it hasnt been obviously damaged by the 6 years plus its been out in the UV (though admittedly only Scottish UV)

There was a lot of mud under it when I lifted it though.

I suppose its a more affordable (I assume) equivalent of the classic teak grating
