Was looking for some new knobs. ASAP (excellent service and fair prices) have the real McCoy for £17.20 inc VAT + p&p http://www.asap-supplies.com/search/607201/replacement-knob-for-morse-mt3-control-head. Not bad.

Then came across these http://www.berger-tools.co.uk/series.asp?CategoryID=13&SeriesID=58. Similar (same?) red plastic knobs for 99p inc VAT + p&p http://www.berger-tools.co.uk/series.asp?CategoryID=13&SeriesID=1201. Or how about a stainless one for £5.20 inc VAT + p&p http://www.berger-tools.co.uk/series.asp?CategoryID=13&SeriesID=58

Am I missing something?!

Cant help with the question but...... if the thread is the same as on the morse control I would like a couple of the stainless ones :encouragement:

Let us know what you find out.

Tom.

They'd look the business, wouldn't they?

Not sure if my Morse controls have an imperial thread. I'll have to get my thread-measuring thing out - and work out how to use it.

I was assuming I'd have to buy knobs for M8 threads and cut the male thread on the Morse lever down to M8 to match. Or, buy knobs for M10 threads and just pop a blob of epoxy in before press-fitting.

I spotted some polished stainless ones on Ebay a while ago: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/281318057317?_trksid=p2055119.m1438.l2649&ssPageName=STRK:MEBIDX:IT £5.99 inc delivery M6 thread

Well spotted, thanks.

But at 25mm diameter, these are going to look quite small. My Morse knobs are about 35mm.

Edit: Just found these - at 32mm and M8 thread. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Aluminium..._Metalworking_Supplies_ET&hash=item417fd3c78d.

They've got some smart black plastic ones, too!
