Epoxy could do it if he can make a good job of cleaning out the gap and roughening the bonding surfaces.I'll suggest West Epoxy Six-10. Doesn't droop or sag in my experience YMMV.

I think you have just been unlucky finding a tube of stuff that slumps. Virtually everything squirted from a tube stays where you put it.It was a l o n g time ago.
